The project will serve the following goals: * Improved health care services including, but not limited to prevention and treatment services for substance abuse clients * Improved access to community-based treatment alternatives * Improved health and social service infrastructure * Reduction of child abuse and neglect * Improved health status for children, elders, minorities and immigrants To improve parent, school and community involvement in the reduction of youth alcohol, tobacco and other drug-use that will help Florida raise healthier drug-free children. Informed Families of Florida is the only Universal Prevention Program providing services statewide. Our goals coincide with the Department of Children and Families' objective number 5.4, which insures that individuals and communities receive the information and develop the skills necessary to prevent and treat substance abuse. Additionally, Informed Families supports objective number 5.2, which calls for strengthening of linkages and coordination between substance abuse and the family safety system. |
