It meets the documented need of providing essential life-skills required before youth are released into society. In an editorial written by DJJ Secretary Bankhead (August 2000), "the State of Florida is applying "Tough Love" to the youth, cracking down on those who commit violence, but also providing appropriate treatment for offenders." For this reason, ARISE Secrets of Success (SOS) provides the last best change of reaching Florida's most serious incarcerated delinquents with life-readiness courses. |

Project Description: |
ARISE Secrets life-management skills concentrate on changing antisocial behavior and improving prosocial skills. It is structured, yet interactive, as well as inexpensive. It appeals to youth who have difficulty reading and communicating effectively. You may ask, why has it been so successful? It works because ARISE Secrets of Success was specifically designed to be taught to this high-risk population. |
