Project Description:
Conducting of field research and gathering of biological data on sawfish and sawfish habitat in Florida waters to address the inadequacies of the current state of knowledge and to assist in the development of effective conservation strategies. This collection of data provides essential information to the evaluation of the proposed federal Endangered Species Act listing.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Improved state enforcement and protection of sawfish. Response of state to listing of the species on the federal endangered apecies act. Protection of sawfish populations and habitat. Recovery of sawfish populations.
