Project Description:
To provide data on distribution and migration patterns, habitat needs and habitat use patterns, health and immune function, responses to boats, vessel traffic patterns and boater compliance with regulations designed to protect manatees. Work is done in collaboration with FMRI and the Bureau of Protected Species Management.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Increased data on manatees identified by the Florida Manatee Recovery Plan; assists in part with the settlement agreement.
