The project will benefit marine life in Matlacha Pass by capturing the excess flow in Gator Slough and diverting the water to the City of Cape Coral's fresh water canal system to be used for irrigation. The project will also address flooding problems within Gator Slough and the Cecil Webb/Babcock Wildlife Management Area. |
