The Cape Coral Youth Center addresses the State's interest in reducing juvenile delinquency, reducing the number of adolescents involved in substance abuse, providing positive environment for youth development, by increasing the number of area youth that remain crime free and by working as a partner in the community to address truancy and juvenile recidivism.

Project Description:
Overseen by the Cape Coral Police Department, the Youth Center provides centralized delivery of comprehensive community based prevention and intervention youth services. It's programs encourage youth to maximize self-esteem, supervised, structured leisure activities. These services are available to all youth in Lee County, but specifically target individuals between 8 and 18 that have come to the attention of law enforcement and the court system.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
As a result of Youth Center operaations, we will demonstrate reduced nunbers of 1st time offenders, reduced numbers of repeat offenders, reductions in chronic truancy and an increase in the number of youth involved in healthy lifestyle choices.
