Columbia County request consideration of funding a permanent full-time staff position under the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission for the purpose of establishing and supervising an Environmental Education Program at Alligator Lake . The county was awarded a Florida Communities Trust Preservation 2000 grant to acquire the Alligator Lake property in 1994, and the grant agreement requires the establishment of an environmental education program.
