Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Continuation of comprehensive medical, dental and health education for delinquent youth detained in DJJ residential centers, non-secure detention facilities, independent-living homes, shelters and after-care programs plus Nursing Services at the Juvenile Assessment Center during peak hours i.e. 10 hours/day, 7 days/week. Continuation of preventive medicine outreach program for youth attending middle/alternative school in at-risk zip code for juvenile crime. And in addition, we are requesting an increase in annual appropriations for these contracts to meet identified needs as follows: A) increase Juvenile Assessment Center Nursing Clinic hours from half-day, peak hours to 24/7 coverage, B) add mental health services for treatment of conduct disorder, attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity and sexual reactivity; and C) add substance abuse treatment program.
