Project Description:
A comprehensive neighborhood action plan will be developed, published and disseminated in cooperation with the Miami -Dade County Department of Cultural affairs ($100,000- state/$25,000-match)and the first phase of work, consisting of property acquisition for the Bird Road Community Cultural Center implemented ($450,000- state /$118,000-match)
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Local: 100+ existing neighborhood businesses (arts, industrial/warehouse, restaurant and retail/antiques) will be revitalized; Regional: the District will attract new business development and serve as a new tourist destination; Statewide: the Neighborhood Action Plan will be distributed in cooperation with the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural affairs to communities throughout Florida as a revitalization "how to" kit.
