Project Description:
The 10% matching grant program will enable fire departments across the state to afford the thermal imaging devices on every fire apparatus. This would allow fire fighters to see through the smoke to rescue citizens and sparing them death or any injuries. It allows firefighters to spot hidden fire in walls and in the wild, which will allow them to stop the spread of fire quicker saving millions in damages to property and sparing thousands of acres of wilderness from burning.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
A reduction of deaths and injuries to civilians and firefighters due to fire. In addition it is expected that a reduction of property damage and wild land loss would also occur.
