Melbourne International is in multi-state competition in one or more major jet maintenance facilities. State assistance in the construction would allow the airport to offer a major incentive.

Over 300 skilled jobs, major support to a small hub airport, strengthening the state's position in this industrial activity and additional tax base for state and locality.
