| Construction of this park will help meet the growing needs of the community already using park services in the town. Currently, the Town of Miami Lakes and the Optimist Club of Miami Lakes have an agreement to provide organized sports programs to community residents at Miami Lakes Park. The club services over 2,200 children in the area. This level of enrollment has exasperated the use if the facilities at Miami Lakes Park and leaves a percentage of the needs of the community unmet. Construction of Royal Oaks Park will help to meet the growing needs the community facesand further enhance the quality of life for residents in the area. Children involved in organized sports are less likely to become involved in drugs or other illegal behaviors. Royal Oaks Park will provide a place for children to receive attention, guidance and direction from mentors through sports. | |||||||||
