The majority of the City of South Miami was developed prior to the construction of Miami-Dade County's water and sewer system. Consequently, many of the City's residential neighborhoods still rely upon wells to provide for drinking water needs. Unfortunately, the significant stress put on the aquifer by urbanization has resulted in deteriorating water quality. Providing high-quality municipal water and fire protection are of utmost importance for our residents. |
