Provides for increase in parking facilities, includes paving and relocating the parking closer to the courthouse complex that will better accomodate the elderly. Also will provide for the installation of a new sprinkler system, The existing courthouse facility was constructed prior to the requirement of sprinkler systems for fire protection. The courthouse has four stories and to install such a system will be a major construction project. Finally the elevator in the existing courthouse was installed in 1971 before additional safety requirements were in law. THe life fo the elevator system's hydraulic system is 25-30 years. The elevator must be completely rebuilt. there are also some ADA issues that must be met as well |

The Court/Community AnnexBuilding will allow access to all citizens and visitors. This buidling will be used on a monthly basis for minimum of two public county commission meetins and any court proceedings. It will also be used for subcommittee meetings as directed by the Board as well as other meetings held by community or government entities. In addition, staff space is being factored into the renovation of the building so that future growth needs will be more cost effectively met. Parking will benefit each of these functions. The sprinkler system and the renovation of the elevator will mean a high degree of confidence in the safety of all our citizens usiing these facilities |
