This section of the City has one of the highest residential zoning classifications and is heavily wooded with large HISTORIC GRANDFATHER OAK trees.  The City does not have the funds extend to sewer to this area. The low elevation and the state's requirement for septic tanks makes it necessary for a new home builder to remove many oaks or clear cut altogether.  Destroying the integrity of the neighborhoods and the historic nature of LaBelle.  This area is along the south bank of the Caloosahatchee River (intercoastal waterway) and septic tanks may increase the water quality degradation.

Install sanitary sewer in the NE quadrant of the City of LaBelle.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

Improve water quality in the Caloosahatchee River and keep ther serenity and historic quality of this residential area while maintaining the property values.  This will entice new residents to relocate to the City of LaBelle which will help remove us from the Governor's designation of Rural Area of Critical Economic Concern.
