Job Title
OPS Support Staff (Session 2021)
General Summary
To prepare for the upcoming Legislative Session in March 2021, the Senate is recruiting for multiple OPS (other personal services) employees to support various offices and committees. These OPS positions are temporary, time limited positions. The hours per week may vary depending on the needs of the hiring supervisor. Individuals interested in an OPS position with the Senate should anticipate starting employment in January 2021, and ending employment in May 2021.
Examples of Work Performed
Duties may include performing general office tasks, such as copying, filing, answering phones, and processing outgoing mail, to handling more complex work such as drafting and editing amendments and bills. Individuals may be assigned to perform clerical duties under the direction of a Staff Director or work independently researching records, coordinating and assisting in the preparation of special projects, administrative tasks and assignments for a committee/unit, compiling and analyzing data, and assisting in planning committee meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or its equivalent or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Some positions may prefer a bachelor’s degree and/or administrative experience.
Salary
Hourly rate will be based on the needs of the position and on the candidate’s prior experience.
