Job Title

District Executive Secretary (District 108)

General Summary

Representative-Elect Dotie Joseph (District 108) is seeking a District Executive Secretary in her Miami-Dade, Florida office.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or its equivalent and three years of secretarial or clerical work experience.    
 
Possession of a Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) Certificate can substitute for the required experience.
 
College education can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience.  Vocational/technical training in an area of secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required work experience.

Salary

Annual $28,044

Employment Description

Applicants must be self-motivated, and should possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.  Strong writing and computer skills are also required. 
 
Tasks include, but are not limited to: performing varied secretarial, administrative and office management duties; maintaining supervisor’s calendar and arranging appointments; arranging travel plans and preparing travel requests & reimbursement  vouchers; receiving and screening all incoming calls and visitors; receiving, reading, distributing or handling incoming mail; composing and preparing routine correspondence and reports; maintaining office files, physical and computer; updating mailing lists, constituent lists and other information as necessary; operating and maintaining office equipment including computers, printers, copiers and fax machines; maintaining all supplies for the office at an appropriate level and ordering supplies as necessary; may assist in managing the district office expense account and preparing related reports; managing office’s digital presence; planning and coordinating District events; assisting in handling constituent requests; and other tasks as may be assigned.
 
Preference will be given to applicants with the ability to read, write and speak both English and Haitian Creole fluently.
