OPS Executive Secretary/Engrossing Input Operator

General Summary

The Office of the Clerk is seeking an OPS Engrossing Input Operator.  This is full-time temporary employment and requires extensive evening work with compensation during legislative sessions.

Examples of Work Performed

  • Performs the placement of amendments in pending legislation and preparation of passed bills and other legislation for permanent recording.
  • Demonstrates a courteous and professional demeanor.
  • Proficiently operates general office equipment and various computer programs.
  • Ability to organize, edit, input and verify material.
  • Maintains physical and electronic files.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Making work folders, counting and recording number of amendments that are passed, failed, withdrawn on each bill, placing the newly amended bill into the bill jacket, assembling file folders for each bill completed and filing them in numeric order.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or its equivalent and two years of secretarial and/or clerical experience. College education can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience.

Rate of Pay

$11.72/hour
