The Public Service Commission Nominating Council was created by Section 350.031 of the Florida Statutes, for the purpose of screening and nominating applicants for appointment by the Governor to fill vacancies on the Florida Public Service Commission.
The Council consists of 12 members: six appointed by the President of the Senate and six appointed by the Speaker of the House. The Council usually meets twice a year.

NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION NOMINATING COUNCIL
The Florida Public Service Commission Nominating Council will hold a public meeting on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., to be conducted in person at Florida Polytechnic University in Lakeland, Florida, as described in the Notice of Meeting linked under the PSC Application Process. The meeting will include applicant interviews and a vote to nominate a minimum of six (6) candidates—three (3) for each vacancy—deemed most qualified for the Governor’s consideration for the two term vacancies on the Florida Public Service Commission. Meeting details, including attendance instructions and the agenda, are included in the Notice of Meeting.
