The Public Service Commission Nominating Council was created by Section 350.031 of the Florida Statutes, for the purpose of screening and nominating applicants for appointment by the Governor to fill vacancies on the Florida Public Service Commission.
The Council consists of 12 members: six appointed by the President of the Senate and six appointed by the Speaker of the House. The Council usually meets twice a year.

FLORIDA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSIONER
The Florida Public Service Commission Nominating Council is accepting applications to fill the one term vacancy on the Florida Public Service Commission. This is a full-time position appointed by the Governor with official headquarters in Tallahassee and an annual salary presently at $154,994.15. Selection process for this vacancy will be held by the Florida Public Service Commission Nominating Council who will identify a slate of no less than three (3) applicants to propose to the Governor. Senate confirmation of the Governor's appointments is required.
Applicants must be competent and knowledgeable in one or more fields which include, but are not limited to: public affairs, law, economics, accounting, engineering, finance, natural resource conservation, energy, or another field substantially related to the duties and functions of the Commission.
