The office may contract with third parties to conduct examinations under this chapter.(1) The person or firm selected by the office may not have a conflict of interest that might affect its ability to independently perform its responsibilities with respect to an examination.
(2) An examination under this section may be conducted by an independent certified public accountant, information technology specialist, or other specialist specified by rule who meets criteria specified by rule. The rules shall also provide that:(a) The rates charged to the licensee examined are consistent with rates charged by other firms in similar professions and are comparable with the rates charged for comparable examinations.
(b) The licensee make payment for the examination pursuant to s. 560.1092 and in accordance with the rates and terms established by the office and the person or firm performing the examination.
