This request is for the dredging componet of the Hudson Channel Project. The Hudson Channel derdging will improve the access of the existing and future users. This project has a broad level of support from all sectors (commercial and recreational) of the maritime community. The preferred channel specification have been identified and determined to be generally permittable: a 40 foot bottom width, and a 50 foot to width; a depth pf -5.0MJW with one-foot of overdraft where not restricted by underlying rock; and a length of approximately 2.1 nautical miles (from channel marker #24 to #2) |

Improve access of a 100 year old channel which is used by commercial fisherman from Tarpons Springs, Pinellas County to Yankeetown, Levy County. It also used by recreational boaters. Assist in the rejuvenation of commercial fishing industry in the area which has been adveresly effect by the Net-ban amendment |
